First Try at the Lady A

Last night I finally sat down and tried a classic salmon fly. Been tying winged wets for trout for a while, but the salmon flies always intimidated me. Overall, this tie certainly has its flaws, but I’m pleased with it as a first attempt.

And pleased you should be. Very nice, especially for a first attempt.

nice one cold. it’ll fish. excellent photo.

Great first salmon fly Cold. It’s very addicting. Keep em comming.

Yup! Well done Cold, It will fish!

Cold,

I like it. Pretty dern nice for your first try. Like that pattern too. What hook did you use? Has a very classy bend to it.

Best Regards, Dave S.

Very nice! I think you did a great job with the pt crest, both the tail and topping.

Great tie Cold. Hard to believe that is your first try at it! Makes my first try look sickening… It’s gone now, a tree ate it… that’s probably a good thing.
