First try at a mortised butt

Here is my first attempt at a mortised butt bamboo rod. Reel seat is bocote w/ matching bocote for the mortise inserts. Orange jasper accent wraps w/ clear wraps for the guides. Orange,amber and black translucent agate stripper by Snake Brand.
