Been fly fishing for over 10 years and caught my first trout ever today on a local municipal pond. I’m normally a warm water angler, but when DNR stocks trout in the local ponds… a bass bug just has to try 
It was even better by catching it on a 6wt rod I built several years ago, and on a #10 Royal Coachman Streamer I tied.
I didn’t measure it but the hook keeper on my rod is right at 11" and the rainbow was a little past that.
Was a beautiful cool sunny fall day at a local pond.

Wow, that is AWESOME! I’m a warmwater guy too, but managed to finally catch some stocked trout on fly gear in July this year…so I totally know what you mean!
