First Snow

We got our first accumulation of snow tonight here in Perry County, Pennsylvania. Not much, only about an inch, but there is always something special about that first snow of the season. It is so simple yet so beautiful and pure. Five month from now my feelings about snow will probably be quite different. That first snow of the season is special and not always unwelcome.

We also got our first snow this evening. A couple of inches of very wet.
This makes 3 years in a row we’ve had snow by Thanksgiving.

Steve,
The first thing I thought was “What are you doing in Dufur?”, Highway 197 on the way to the Deschutes River.
I looked at your Profile and noticed you have this site; www.curlykoa.com
You have an interesting Business! I would especially encourage all the Musicians to check out the Customer Creations.
Nice to have you here!
Doug

TB Wannabe -

That snow sure looks heavenly in the D Canyon. I bet the bighorns are out on the rimrock these days!!!

Marty

Got 8 inches here in Poconos. And it’s all meting today in the rain.
I’m hoping that it will dissapear before Friday. With the long weekend and nice warm up I’m hoping to squeeze some fishing before I have to stow the boat away for the winter.

Eric,

We are expecting some snow in Detroit for Thanksgiving - just a touch.

Hope all is well with Amy. She continues to be in our prayers.

Godspeed,

Bob

as I type this it is snowing here hope it fills the lakes up

Harley: I hope you get more than we did in Klamath Falls - not enough to do much good. That being said despite K Falls being in a drought situation I wish that all of our rain & snow would fall on Georgia and other places that need it a heck of a lot more than we do.

Tim

panman I could not agree with you more. We are not in a draught but water is not up to normal yet. Those states that are in a drought need to get our water. Maybe Texas could ship some to them.

This wasn’t our first snow, but we got about 6" here last evening and this am. Our moisture here is a little above average but we need a lot.

Y’all feel free to keep that snow Up There. We don’t need it down here. Temps dropping down into the 40’s here. Brrrrrrrr. No dries, other than BWOs, black caddis, and midges, until Monday when we’re supposed to get back up to the 60’s. I think that our PMDs and sulphurs are gone until Spring.

There is an "interesting " first snow story going around via e-mails. It’s funny but DOES contain some language that may be be deemed unsuitable. Go to Google and type in “snow story”.

And we too got our first snow last night. Cute but …

Loading into our car yesterday to go to Thanksgiving Dinner, I asked my 4 y/o daughter if she could smell something. She said yes, but didn?t know what it was. I told her, that is what it smells like before it snows.

By the time we got to our destination the big snow flakes started to fall in only a way the big ones can.

First snows are great. First snows in the eyes of a child, now that is something.
