With summer in full swing, it’s time to target bass and pickerel close to home as opposed to driving to far away trout waters. I love getting them on top water bugs like this Firetiger Slider. This is a Lee Weil pattern that I tied over the winter and has been a good producer so far. The black deer hair collar is coated in UV resin for durability.

Hook: Stinger hook
Weedguard: 20 lb monofilament
Tail: White marabou, gold flashabou, pearl krystal flash, and yellow marabou, in that order
Body: Orange, yellow, and black stacked deer hair
Eyes: Plastic eyes
