Just a heads up. There are some real bad fire’s burning here right now. The smoke is so thick you can not see the mountains from my house and that is thick. Probably looks like a normal day in LA?

It’s smokey here too. I tried to glass for elk last night and I couldn’t make out anything on mountainsides that weren’t that far away. The cooler nights and moisture are helping a bit with the fires that continue to burn.
Could that be from the Potato fire in Idaho. I know between that and the yankee fork fire they are putting out a lot of smoke
Not sure as we had a big fire going in the valley that was just about out and I was told today that it had flaired back up again? Have to check it out and see for sure. Anyway you look at it it is real smokey here right now. Not as bad as the year the Park burned. I was in a Golf tournment when that was going on and when you teed of you lost the ball about 100 yards off the tee. Took for ever to get that day over with. Everyone was looking for Golf Balls all the time. LOL Ron
Here is were I look to see what is going on with the fire’s. There is a fire south of Big Timber that is 3,000 acres and is 0 percent contained. That could be were all our smoke is from. But we could be getting some from Idaho to.
We had a front come through today and got a little rain out of it. The wind also changed and the smoke is not as bad. Hope the rain helped with the fire’s. Ron

There is a huge fire in Washington south of us. Some days are choking smoke with ash fall. Some are as clear as a bell depending on the wind.
Montana is probably getting a lot of that smoke too.
I just heard a news report on Public Radio, that California has added a
DC-10 to it’s fleet of planes, for fighting forest fires. Then at the end of the telecast, they mentioned that there is a Boeing 747 that will soon be available for dropping fire retardant on forest fires. Both of those are very large airplanes.
