Fire Fly Nymph SBS

Attributed to Doug Prince; shares some components with the Forked-Tail Nymph and the fly that bears his name. Tied here with a bead head; could be swapped out for a weighted underbody version.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - Amherst pheasant tippet
body - black ostrich/green Uni-Stretch band
hackle - hen black
wing - goose biots white
bead - 4mm black

Part 1

mash barb, slide bead on hook, take a few wraps of non-tox and jam it in the backside, start thread, wrap to bend

trim out center of AP tippet; fold, measure (gap width past bend), tie in

tie in some ostrich, twist with thread, wrap rear 1/3; tie off/trim

tie in Uni-stretch, wrap middle 1/3; tie off/trim

Part 2

measure (shank length) biots; tie in with tips over front of fly and trim butts

tie in some more ostrich, twist with thread, wrap front 1/3; tie off/trim

prep hackle, tie in by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

fold wings back over fly, whip, SHHAN
