My Patagonia breathable waders started leaking. How do I find the exact spot where the leak is? any tips, tricks?
Get a spray bottle and spray the insides with rubbing alcohol. Then turn them right side out and look for the dark spots. Patch those dark spots and resume dry wading.
From the Patagonia website:
I have had good luck running a flashlight on the inside surface of the boots while following the beam on the outer surface. When you are in a dark room tiny pinholes show up like spotlights.

Alcohol in the spray bottle seems to work the best for me and others I know. Easy to apply and even more easier to find.

I just repaired some leaks in my waders last month using the rubbing alcohol in the spray bottle method and I have to agree that it made it easy to find the leaks. I used Aquaseal to seal the leaks and I am happy with the results.

Turn boots inside-out and start filling with water until leak appears on inside side.
The web site sez the same thing. Must be the right way.
in addition to just aquaseal on the inside, I like to seal a patch on the outside, it’ll last longer.
In addition to the alcohol spray bottle I applied the aquaseal with my index finger using (non) latex gloves. It made things much faster than trying to use a brush or stick etc. I think that i would try this method before I did the fill the leg with water method- most holes are pinholes and are easily seen with the alcohol.

Should be in the waders when you fill them with water?
