It all started at work yesterday when one of my mechanics told me he couldn’t put a gift under his Christmas tree till after the new year. He has a 4 year old son with Autism. It bugged me till this morning having coffee with my family. My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her nothing at all. If you want to get me something for Christmas get me something to put under his tree for his son. My wife and mother in law decided for the same thing. So I went to my shop and talked to my manager and the rest of my crew and gave them the heads up. My wife went to work and got some toys for the child. We both got out of work early and went to wrapping the gifts. We just got back from playing Mr and Mrs Claus. We went back to my shop and pulled the mechanic to the side and let him know what we had done. When we gave him the first gift he said that was very nice and shut his car door. Only to turn around to have another gift ready to go into his car. He kept telling us you shouldn’t have done this, you really didn’t need to do this. I stopped him and told him that YES it did need to happen. As he proceeded to put the rest of the gifts in his car I could see a tear run down his face. I looked at my wife and saw the same thing. Doing this has made this the best Christmas for me and my family.
Good for you! That is the true holiday spirit.
Bless you, your wife, family and friends, Sir! The love of Christ is in your hearts! How I wish I were there to shake your hand.
God bless you. Merry Christmas, Jim

“Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
Jim thanks for the Welcome to FAOL. This is my second go round here ! It’s been about 4-5years since I was last here. I used to hang out in the chat room and talk with Jim Hatch,Black Gnat and several others. I got a flyfishing outfit for Christmas 6yrs ago. After doing a search for flyfishing for beginners FAOL was the first link I got. After about a year of fishing for bluegills and bass I decided to move onto the saltwater flyfishing. And now getting back into the freshwater fishing again.
n2t,
Welcome to FAOL. Here is a big hug. ( )
Yes, men can hug. You have put it all in perspective.
You are truely blessed to be a blessing.
n2t,
Hugs from me too. I know we are over 3000 miles apart, but if you ever make it to my neck of the woods, feel free to join my camp. There will always be a stump around the campfire with your name on it. You really touched me in my soft spot. And that’s a God thing.
Blessings on You,
God bless the both of you. We need more kind people in this world like Mr and Mrs Claus, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
n2t,
You are a great example of the true meaning of Christmas. This is what our Lord & Saviour taught the world. May God richly bless you and your wife (I know He has) my brother and welcome !!!
That my friend, is what it’s really all about. A wonderful thing to do for someone else! Welcome to the site and an especially merry Christmas to you and yours!
Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus.
With all that is negative in this world by way of what we read and watch there is far more good and this is just one more proving example. Merry Christmas to you all.
