Can someone explain to me the proper method to hand ferrule a bamboo rod or direct me to a website that explains it? I do not currently own a lathe or have access to one and the books I have only mention this method.

I just made a ferrule ststion on my blank by hand. Not only was it easy, but it was also enjoyable. I taped my blank off at the end of the ferrule station, wraped the station in sandpaper, holding it in place by hand, and then rolled it on my lap. It took a little time, but the end results were quite pleasing.
