Favorite Bass fly.

Haven’t tried this, but I cann’t think of a better pattern: Rob Meade’s 2/0 Gutless Prawn.

Deer hair slider:

And for subsurface:

I have pretty good luck with Crease Flies. The can be fished either as a top water or subsurface fly. I “tie” them 2 to 3 inches long either the standard way or or like the one below. I like this version better less leverage for the fish if it jumps.

gigmaster, that bluegill Puglisi minnow is a beauty. Do you have an SBS or a video of that tie or is there one out there. Never done that type of fly but can see it working for shad, bluegill or crappie based forage with color changes. Very nice.

I do tie them in different colors.

Here is the Shad version:

I will be filming a tutorial on this fly in a few days, for a Bass Fly Fishing website. I’ll post a link to the video on YouTube as soon as it is done.

Look forward to it thanx. Have used some craft hair but never in as nice a design as that.

Here are a few of my Bluegull patterns tie in EP combo colors.

RHenn, that second one you posted for underwater is such a common type tie. I’ve tied them for salt water swaps where they call them a Q-Bug. With a bit of coloration or size change it can represent so many things and is a strong choice for largemouth, smallmouth, and even carp.

RHenn,

That is some beautiful deer hair work!

What material did you use for the tail on the yellow and black one? It looks synthetic but I can’t tell. I like to use synthetics on the tail of my bass bugs when possible.
