Faux Pheasant

Following the previous blog on my Pheasant Tail Dubbing Blend, this is the fly in which the dubbing blend was originally designed for. Nothing new in design, as it is a pretty standard nymph pattern, but it’s the “Pheasant Tail” variation I tie and reach for when times call for a pheasant tail nymph.

Ralph,
Looks good. How much darker does it get when wet? Picture of it wet, too?

Joe

Good idea. Post a picture of them wet, Ralph. I’m sure they get much darker.

Gents,

Here is the pic. It’s also added to the PT Dubbing blog entry.

Thanks, Ralph. I think it would help if everybody would show a nymph both dry and wet when they post a picture of one, if there is dubbing on it.

Joe

It does make a difference.

That looks pretty much spot on the same color as the PT fibers to me.
