Fatal Attractor SBS

Not to be confused with Dan Blanton’s Fatal Attraction. Found this on the Hatch site; made a few changes in the winging sequence but the results are pretty much the same.

hook ? Dai Riki 320 #12
thread - Danville 6/0 red
tail - Krystal Flash red
body - Ice Dub cadis green
rear wing - deer hair
upright wing - Congo Hair white
hackle - grizzly

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark; tie in KF, fold, wrap to bend, trim (shank length)

dub thread/dub body

tie in a clump of CH at 3/4 mark; post wings

back to the 2/3 mark, clean, stack, measure (1/2 tail length) a clump of deer hair; trim to length, tie in (tried tying the deer hair first but couldn’t keep the Congo Hair from sliding down the ramp when I tried to tie it in; this sequence is a bit cumbersome, but works)

Part 2

tie in hackle

wrap hackle; tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN

trim wing

Wow. That would certainly, um, “attract” fish!

Chuck

Very nicely tied
A truly stunning fly

I enjoy fishing these attractor patterns as the name states them quite well.

Be safe
