How do you build a fast bamboo rod?

cattanach has some fast tapers. some others too.
making a faster bamboo rod really isn’t a problem today. it prolly won’t be xp fast but certainly more quick than you’d expect.
on the other hand, why? personally I like a moderate fast bamboo taper but see no reason to make one graphite fast. if that’s what you want buy graphite.
Just to expand on the idea of a fast taper a little bit…
How a cane rod bends is determined by the width of the rod at any given point along its length. A “taper” is just a set of numbers (a fly rod “recipe”) that tells us, within one / onethousandth of an inch, the diameter of the rod every five inches along its length. A “fast” action is just one that has a stiff butt and mid and flexes more easily at the tip. So - the numbers must be larger than average along the lower part of the rod and fall of quickly as you approach the tip. Make sense?
