I am not a computer whiz kid by any means but I think there is a problem with the search feature on our website. I am looking for the pattern for an old fly called the Picket Pin. Uses squirel tail and peacock, I think. Would appreciate you help. Thanks in advance.

Gerri:
In the search window on the main page type in “Picket Pin”, then hit the enter key. Several leads to include a pattern should come up - at least they did for me.

As Tim pointed out, there are a bunch of things come up on the search engine. If this isn’t what you are looking for, try what Tim suggested. For what it’s worth, I had a lot of frustration with the search thing until I finally figured out I had to use the enter key on my computer keyboard to get there.

What’s all the crap on the search engines that demand longer and more words…frustrating is a mild word!
I went to fly tying, typed in pickit pin and it went right to the fly. Easy as 1,2,3,
Thanks everyone,
My error was in understanding that I had to hit the enter key on my own keyboard.
I learned something today! Thanks to all who replied.
Sorry about my verbage above but this is what I’m talking about…this is using the “Search” about midpage above and in the copper colored bar…I just typed in “Piket Pin” and got this
“The search term you specified (pin) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.”
It even says that when you use “fly”…does it think we aren’t going to use that particular word?
It is frustrating!
I posted before about the 3 character minimum. If they allowed 3 characters it would bogg down the system too much so they went to a 4 character search which helps on system resources.
If you want to do a search on “Picket Pin” for instance, just search the word “Picket” and leave the word “Pin” out of the search. It can be frustrating, but it helps everyone else out with the level of service that we are all use to on this nice web site.
