Hi folks,
Just thought I would share a few photos of the fall colors at my favorite warm water fishing hole. The great thing about a slower paced sport like ours is it makes you slow down and enjoy the natural world. Well, enjoy and feel free to share pics too if you wish:
Hi Ron,
Thanks buddy. Glad you enjoyed the photos. I don’t know what I was doing with those last two. I liked the way the light and shadow looked to the naked eye but sometimes the camera sees an all together different, and interesting, view.
And here I was gonna say how much I liked the last two. Sometimes I miss the old days of shooting on real film and working in the darkroom to get just the image I wanted. Then again, the cost of the chemicals, time invested and such, maybe this new digital is all right.
There is something to be said for those days. I miss the “magic” of watching the image appear on the Eastman/Kodak paper. I don’t miss handling the chemicals though. One thing about being taught the “old school” way is that you learn how to compose the shot before you push the shutter release. I still cannot get used to letting my new digital camera do the work for me.
My Pentax K-1000 is now retired. It earned it’s stripes with me in the Army. I seem to recall you mentioning having a K-1000 too. If you buy one of the Pentax Digital SLR camera bodies your old lenses will work great on it. That is if you still have your old gear. Mine is a K-110d but I may upgrade to a K-100D or K-10D soon. The new digital SLR cameras really save money on the processing and the picture quality has now caught up to film.
Great colours guys! I only get to see them on occasion if we make it to the South Island. Next year will be in Nova Scotia for the fall though. Really looking forward to that. These are great teasers!
I posted this on the other thread, but my Pentax W-30 (bought new April of this year) started making blurry pictures. I simply sent it off to Pentax on the 6th of this month and got it back today (21st). All fixed now. Works fine again. Dandy service. Happy camper again.
Linda and I are going up the St. Joe Saturday for this very reason. We’ll be taking both camera batteries just to be on the safe side. Oh, and BTW, I’ll be taking some waders and a fly rod.
Stunning images. Here in Texas we have yet to have even a taste of fall. All the trees in my yard as green as they were during the summer. The only hit there might be a change in the seasons is the accorns falling off my Red Oak.
We get some pretty good color around here, but not so dramatic as in the east. Eric’s photos reminds me a lot of eastern MA around Columbus Day when the fall foliage was at its peak. Thanks.
FYI folks none of my photographs are copyright protected. They are free for you to use as you wish. Enjoy! It is the next best thing to all of us being there together!
