Face Book not ff

I was just wondering if any members also have a Facebook Acct.

Yup I just started cause I got a friends that want to stay in touch (more than already with cells lol lol)

Yes. I only recently got an account and it has become a way to get in contact with a number of friends I haven’t seen since high school. I can also chat with my nephew around the world in Australia. There’s also some fly fishing stuff on facebook as well including a fly tying group. I suggest you try it.

No, but I am on LinkedIn.

Being a young’un, of course.

Food for thought, if your looking for work beware that companies hiring they are going on “Face Book” and checking peoples account if they can access them for background information. Beware !!!

Yup…

Hey Kev as long as they don’t find out that I run with the likes of you guys in TN I think I will be ok.

Very good Tim, Like I said before you can hide out here anytime

It seems to me that a Twitter account would be more useful for a fly fisherman to network with other fly fisherman and follow, etc. I reserve Facebook for close friends, co-workers and family so I don’t end up with unknown friends peeking in on my life. leave MySpace for the kiddies.

What’s the advantage? My friend Irv on the Hilo side of Hawaii just invited me to join so we can communicate by other means than cell phone or email. I haven’t done it yet. Jim

Like others, I reserve facebook for close friends. As for potential employers, so they find I have a lot of neices and nephews that I keep in contact with and that I am active in my church and enjoy taking my son fishing.

If they decide to not hire me because of those things, I didn’t want to work there anyway.

In that case, it may help weed out employment offers where there is not a cultural match.

On the other hand these days, I reckon any job offer is a good job offer.

Jeff

Popper,

You are correct about potential employers using Facebook. But they also use any other links to your life so it’s important to make sure you don’t post those wild party pictures from last weekend anywhere. Also, pages live long after they have been ‘deleted’ from the web since google and others archive those pages for a long time.

But facebook and others serve a great function for people like myself that have moved all over the country and want to keep up with friends and relatives.

Never heard of face book! What can it do that an email can’t?

Yep! I do!

Use it for pictures of the Kids and grand kids. Met some FFF guys as well.

Like Krauseb, I really don’t know what’s it all about. Unlike Krauseb, I’ve heard of it but NEVER looked into it. And again , like Krauseb, I’d also like to know what more can it do for me that e-mail cannot?

Mark

I can send pictures on email without facebook.
