F&S Online article

Photos should look familar

editors liked it…

Is in June Edition

Amazing --Field and Stream told me it would probably only be in the online edition!

Keep an eye on Tim Romano, who came up to my place to shoot that article – his last two big articles for F&S were excellent: a photo essay about finding and fishing an unnamed, high mountain lake with no trail to it, and one about testing nymphs in the S Platte and videoing the flies action and how the fish react to them with an underwater camera and scuba gear.

The last couple months have been quite a trip–I get home from Arkansas to find out I made The Drake. And then I come home from the Central Washington fish-in to find I made Field and Stream! All from some silly stories and flies that were first published right here on FAOL, thanks to Jim and Deanna. Thanks JC and Ladyfisher for supporting beginning writers and photographers by publishing their work on your site!

DANBOB

what part is your submission danbob?

Whew! It’s not in the print edition, only online.
Enough clues in the article for someone persistant to figure out where I lived; I’m in fear of ultra-purist dry fly fishermen getting wind of my magic fly for big brown trout that uses a .22 long cartridge tied on the hook…
DANBOB

mine also…

only online…

thought was odd they were using my photos in magazine without my permission.

I would like to both congratulate DANBOB and to second his comment on the article in F&S pertaining to observations made during nymph fishing as seen and recorded by a scuba diver. It is an article with many intersting observations for both novice and experienced nymph fishers. JWW

Spinner,
Just what I was going to ask you. Were these photos published WITH your permission?Nonetheless, my congrats on “gettin there” anyway. Your photos are/were genuinely worthy of insertion into F&S.

PS: Congrats to you too Danbob.
