Heart Of The Driftless Area
Oh you’re such a tease. Thank you for helping me make the decision to take an early day!
Marty
Spinner , if you keep teasing me with all these nice shots while my lakes are still frozen up , I may have to push you in.
Gnu
push him in pleeeaaseee
Ghost

No! Just because we are jealous that is no reason to push him in and ruin a great day!
Hey Spinner,
The last time I was up your way, the Chi Bears practiced at Platteville . Maybe next weekend we’ll head out Viroqua way and catch you astream.
Mark
Okay, enough is enough! Gnu Bee, push Spinner in please. I know that may scare some of the fish in that pretty little stream, but he deserves a soaking.

spinner1;
What’s all that brown stuff?! It’s all green here!
Very nice pic’s, wheres the morning coffee to go with them…lol
Hey Jack, you learn fast. Well done.
Ed
Marty, I think your’e dying to move home…
Let me tease you back.
Oh man, oh man! That’s torture!
Spinner 1 and Gramps, you should be shot, violated and peed upon!!! We still have snow in the woods and on the south sides of the roads here in northern lower Michigan. Argghhhh! Your photos are beautiful!
But it won’t be long until our streams are fishable. Then I’ll come out of my chrysallis and LIVE again!!
Spinner, I have a question.
We have a daughtert in Madison whom we plan to visit this summer. A look at the map has shown me that Black Earth Creek is pretty close, but I’m afraid it’ll be pretty “busy”. Got any suggestions for not too far, but really good trout water? I’m impressed with what I read about the easy access to good water in WI. It’s also got to be pretty easy for a mid-70s old far…fellow.
Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.
Bill
Spinner 1,
Got another question.
Would John Bethke’s Pink Squirrel, the Pass Lake, the Hornberg and SH flies like partridge and Orange, Partridge and Yellow, Partridge and Green and a Hares Ear SH just about have it covered? Yup, I like to fish out of my shirt pocket. I’d probably also include Joe Hyde’s Old and Young Reliables(flashback Hares Ear nymphs 10 and 14) and a PT nymph. That’d just about fill my little pocket soap box. There’d also be some light and dard WoolyBuggers.
Your reports and photos are marvelous!
Thanks very much.
Bill
Your selection of flies sound perfect…
to have a better experience I would drive 1-2 hours west of madison.
Streams to yourself and a bigger variety of trout.
Arrgghhhh!
Hi Spinner1,
I’m already in your debt but I need another piece of information. I’ve looked at sites with many fly dressings, Googled “turkey leech pattern” and haven’t found out what a coneheaded turkey leech looks like, how it’s tied. I assume a conehead to fit the size of the hook goes at the front, but what’s the rest of the pattern? Marabou (that’d be turkey)? Leech yarn with turkey wings or tail?
Please help - one more time.
Thanks very much - again!!
Bill
