Scenery was better than the fishing last trip to The 'Glades:
Very nice pics! Is it bad that when I look at the bird, I wonder how I could use the feathers on a fly?
LOL! Guess it’s not bad if you only wonder!
Steve,
Nice photos! Do you know what species of Hawk that is?
Thanks,
Doug
I had a hawk land on the front of my boat the other week trying to get the fish I just had caught. It scared the ^%#&&*% out of me.
I believe its a female red-shouldered hawk.
I hope that was a telephoto lens for the 'gator shot. Otherwise, you’re way to close in a kayak for my taste! Nice photos Steve!

Am I the only one thinking Gator on a fly rod!!!
I don’t know the regulations, but someone must of accidentaly hooked one .
All kinds of stuff gets accidentaly caught; bats, turtles, frogs.
Must be one heck of a thrill, fishing for panfish, and hooking a beast!
Just rambeling on, it’s that kind of a morning.
Have a great day,
chris
I’ve never hooked a gator on fly rod, but I have hooked a couple of spinning equipment. They like topwater plugs and plastic worms. It’s against the law to intentionally harass them.
 Say Steve, what do you do when you encounter one of those oversize reptiles. Do you see them often from your Kayak?
Yes, I see them quite often. They move out of the way. Alligators in the wild don’t like human encounters.
Now, it’s a different story around development ponds where they’re used to humans and get fed. Those guys can get a little beligerant.
