Pontoons and kayaks. There are pluses and minuses. It’s easier to hold position with kick fins, although I don’t find it a big problem to keep the paddle in my lap and adjust position with an occasional stroke.
Regarding kayaks, I didn’t think speed was as important as it is until I got my kayak and realized I wanted to fish places that were a significant paddle from the launch.
You may also pop the drive in and out while on the water,This is very handy when about to cross a known shallow water ridgeline submerged just below the surface that you know you gotta hit with some force to get across…or where feeder creeks and channels are very swallow at normal lake water levels and you’ll be dragging rocks for a while till you hit the deeper water again…
Will admit, It can take some good hand strength, Depending on how heavily your loaded toward the bow to unlock and relock the fasteners that hold the drive in the sockets…Wish they’d made them a cam type rather than twist…
