We have ended the Monthly Drawing with the new March issue. With the economy being what it is, I cannot in good ethics ask our remaining Sponsors to continue providing the neat prizes they have given out for the past nearly 15 years. Add it up, it is a lot of product and money given to our readers over the years. Nothing here is written in stone (well almost nothing) so this could change if the economy perks up. Or some Sponsor calls and says they just really really want to provide something neat for the Drawing. It has been a very good run - thanks for playing!

That is too bad. I thought it a nice perk because of the recent economy. Plus fairly inexpensive hands on advertising, but change is what it is…different.
There have been a lot of very nice prizes awarded over all those years, and even if I never did win one, thanks doing this as long as you did.
As others have express it was a very nice perk. Thank You to all involved. But that wasn’t the only reason I visit FAOL
I have been surprised that you could keep it up this long, thanks to the sponsors who in the past have donated and to FAOL for a great place to hang out and talk fishing.

Easy for me to say thanks for the monthly drawing, having won at least once, but THAT notwithstanding, THANK YOU Deanna and the donating sponsors for providing us with an opportunity to enter and hope. Personally, I was always happy for the winners except for when Kaboom ( Brad) won the Kusse reel. I will hate him for at least a another year or two . But , I’m sure, that too will pass.

I have also won and it was a great “perk” and I really feel there will be some sponsors that will want to continue with it. If it does not come back, so be it. I did not join FAOL for this perk or any of the other wonderful “perks”. I joined because it was and still is the best site out there and has some of the most sharing and good people that God put on this earth. I love FAOL and always will.
Waren this is so well said. You and that guy from the rubber Capital of The Island Nation of Ohio in the Land of The Salt Water Peanut Butter Fudge Eating Blue Gills were so of the first to befriend me. Along with Harold Hattaway, Al Campbell and The Birkholms. The drawing was a nice perk that I never won but meeting such great folks is the real prize to me.
There are some of us that have been known to do give aways here. Perhaps we can use products that we have bought from sponsors to do that. A Grassroots thing.
I am sure that I win every time I open the web browser and point my mouser to FAOL…so do not feel sorry, or apologize, you folks and by this I mean all of us provide such great winning to all of us that nothing is lost, by making a good and sound family business decision…

The drawings were a nice bonus feature but The FAOL site is full of prizes and treasures for those who look for them.
It was fun playing, although it took me awhile before I discovered there even was a drawing - too busy lurking in the rod building forum! As others have said, there are tons of treasure on this site, and the fun is in the hunting! There is so much new material day to day that I don’t take as much time rooting around in the archives as I would like. If you don’t hear from me (do I hear applause?) for a few days, it will probably be because I’m stuck back in the archives! I enjoyed all the hootin and hollerin - whether I won or not. Much thanks to all the drawing prize donors - well done!

All things considered, I’d rather FAOL’s sponsors put their money into sustaining their sponsoring than prizes. That way we can all win every time we log on.

But…I never won anything… just kidding. I really appreciate sponsors in these tough times. I’m sure most of them feel an obligation to sites like this one realizing only minimal return on investment. It’s a hard time we live in, but I can still go fishing so life is good whether or not I win a prize.
I too have been the reciepient of the monthly drawings. Even if the drawings are discontinued, I will consider myself to be a winner every day I come in to this site. FAOL is fantastic and I thank those responsible for allowing me to be a part of it.

It’s unbelievable that it’s been 15 years since first finding FAOL, how the time goes by as the web-pages grew up fast ! Over 13 years of getting great reading, information & friends seems far better than winning the drawing ever would have been …as it was the winners circle every log on !
Hah! At least i am sure to keep my stellar score. O for forever now.
