Election Day Results

Polling place - the Bitterroot River MT.

Brown voting for yellow and brown Double Bunny.

Rainbow voting for sculpin olive PSC.

Another nice bow voted for the Double Bunny but threw the hook on his third jump.

The results are inconclusive. Guess I’ll have to go back for a recount.

John

I wish I could join you to verify that there are no hanging chads, and that the results are clear and decisive.

I went to a local pond yesterday to check how they were feeling over there. A senior 10 inch bluegill told me he was hungry.

Now there results I want to see  Nice pictures!!

Elections results everyone can agree with! Good stuff John.

That’s about the best reason for a run off election I have seen lately. Nice candidates you have out there.

PS: Thank you for the great photos, I am adding them to my computers desktop photo album.

Beautiful location big fish, makes you forget all the hubub

Hi John,

Wish I could be there to do some political surveys myself. Beautiful pictures, place, and fish.

Thank you!

Gandolf

All the best.

JohnScott,

It looks like your gonna need a campaign manager! I’ll bring the net!!! Nice trout, but they seem to have different agendas! LOL!!!

Best Regards, Dave S.

One great thing about John’s candidates, you don’t have to pick up their signs from your yard.

Nice fish, as usual, John.

I think you need a committee investigation of why the yellow double bunnie was impeached. I volunteer to be on your committee.

Brings a whole new meaning to the term - “STIMULUS PACKAGE”

John,
The best election day results I’ve seen!
Thanks for sharing.

… where voting was delayed several days, a former FOTW, running uncontested, received unanimous approval from a Rainbow Coalition.

http://www.flyanglersonline.com/fotw/2010/fotw20100524.php

The voting took place at several locations in the venue.

The coalition consisted of a bunch of …

… cutthroat and

… a brown,

… a cuttbow,

… and, of course, a rainbow.

Weather did not effect the turnout. In fact, all the vote counting was done wearing hiking boots, levis, and a short sleeved tee shirt. 70F in the Bitterroot in November ??!!

John

P.S. That’s a grand slam for this venue.

thanks for sharing john
lordy, that is some clear water
May I ask what type of leader/tippit length are you using?
Love the sage also

… 9’ for 7 wt, which is a bit much for this stream but handles the indicator / nymph rig better than my other rods.

The leader is a homebrew 6’ thread furled leader made out of Danville 210 Flymaster Plus fly tying thread. This is the same leader I use on my 3-4-5 wt rods for dry fly fishing and fishing smaller nymphs. It handles the large thingamabobber and the size 6 4XL heavily weighted stonefly nymph just fine. The tippet for this set up was Frog Hair 3X fluoro. Had about five feet tied to the tip ring of the leader. The indicator was placed about 2’ up from the tip of the leader most of the time.

John

P.S. Some folks profess to have tried and not liked furled leaders. Makes me wonder what kind of junk they had to try out, or if they gave it a fair chance for the kind of fishing they were doing.

I mean, one thread leader that handles flies from size 20 dry flies on 6X tippet to size 6 4XL weighted stonefly nymphs under an indicator fished on 2X tippet and turns over both of those extremes and everything in between beautifully and enhances the prospects for a perfect drag free drift !! What’s not to like about a leader like that that costs about a buck and a half to make and lasts a long time ??

Hey John,
Very thoughtful "play"on words. The pics and fish ain’t all that shabby either.
