Egg Laying Caddis with Underwing and Deer Hair

This is my Egg Laying Deer Hair Caddis - if I got the correct picture posted…

Neat and tidy fly, nice photo#2. What material do you use for the Underwing? Thanks Jax

Nice looking flies!!!

This is one of my flies. An imitation of an emerging sedge.

I use Zelon as it doesn’t mat and drag the fly down.

Byron,

This is my favorite egglayer. This particular fly fits a Grannom very well. Tied on a light wire hook.

Emerald green silk (when wet) for the egg case, peacock quill for the abdomen, dark hare’s ear for the thorax and brown dun hen for the hackle. Hook size is a 14.

Nice fly! Does it float well in fast water?
thanks

Byron,

It’s on a light wire hook to fish in the top of the water column, but is a wet fly, female caddis diving to lay her eggs. Doesn’t float well in any type of water but fishes well just about anywhere.

that is one nice tie REE

Thank you. It fishes well.
