Egg-Laying Caddis (Carnage variation)

Not a fan of needle body construction any more but the liked the results; easy enough to translate it to Carnage style. Tied here as a hydropsyche; change color/size to suit your needs.

hook ? Dai Riki 135 #16
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
core - 10 lb mono
egg sac - Uni-stretch green
abdomen - bleached peacock herl
shellback - 1mm foam tan
wing - Congo Hair shiner tan
hackle - barred cream
head - 1mm foam tan

Part 1

put a loop in the end of the mono

mash barb, start thread; brush on a little Super Glue and tie in mono

hook the loop onto the gallows, tie in foam strip and Uni-stretch; wrap up the core (shank length)

wrap sac, tie off/trim

tie in peacock; wrap up to sac and back, tie off/trim

Part 2

pull foam forward; tie down to eye

fold foam over, creating head; tie down/trim

tie in CH with cross wraps, wrap back to abdomen

tie in hackle; wrap to head, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim wing, trim out hackle underneath

Nice tie! i need to incorporate more foam into my dries… i need to fish more dries … i need to fish more… this once or twice a week & maybe none this week does not cut it
