Echo Fly rod

I bought an Echo from Cabelas about 3 years ago and love it… It is green and it is a 4pc. 4wt. 8 ft. I cant seem to find them like this any more… I want this same rod in a 9 foot. If anyone has any clues to find these rods or has one or knows some one that has one and wants to get rid of it, that would be great.
Thanks, Travis

I’m guessing that this is the 2nd generation of your rod.

The Echo 2 is a different rod. The Original Echo series were replaced last year by the Carbon (3 to 6wt) and Ion (7 to 10wt) series rods.

Echo Classic…they are great rods, I have a 3wt that I really like. It’s too bad they stopped making them. Good luck finding one.

Contact Chad at www.elkspringsflyshop.com They had a one in stock but not sure which wt though.

It’s a shame they quit making them because they are damn good rods.

I have that rod in a 4 pc, 9 ft, 5 wt if you are interested. It has never been used.

Thanks for the input guys, has anyone tried the carbon? And pm sent to silver creek.

a buddy of mine just tried one out (the 10’ 6wt) and it broke within 6 casts. But, and this is a big but, their warranty is phenomenal (he already has his new one in hand with minimal wait time). The fact that he got one lemon, wouldn’t sway me from looking into them. I guess the point is, don’t let the occasional lemon sway your thinking.

Hi,

I have a 7’6" 3 weight (4 piece) Echo that I really like. Picked it up from here actually. Didn’t know they weren’t making them any more. A shame as it’s a great rod.

I just got a Carbon 7’3" 2wt, have been fishing bluegills with this week. I really like this rod.

Although I don’t personally own an Echo rod, I have cast them and from what I have seen they seem to be great rods and reasonably prices.

The post about the rod breaking is strange – must have been a defect in the rod. Tim Rajeff has a video on his web site of him deliberately breaking an Echo fly rod – he had to use a fork lift and an unbelievable amount of weight to bend the rod far enough to break the rod – check it out – it is truly amazing how much it took to break that rod.

Does anyone remember what action they are? I think they were fast, feels fast to me.

I’d check out ebay. They periodically have them on there.
