There is a vise on EBAy that the seller claims is as good as a Renzetti for about $50. Claims he has sold thousands with only 3 complaints. Same seller has had these listed for a long time if memory serves me right, like a couple of years. Seems to good to be true to me, but wondered if anyone has any experience with this seller. Seller does have a good satisfaction rating or what ever they call it.
I bought one like this several years ago. I don’t know if it was from this seller.
I use it primarily for my saltwater patterns because it works well with larger diameter hooks where my Traveler and Regal sometimes have issues.
The only problem I have noticed is that the ring that releases the vise to rotate sometimes sticks. The gasket is getting old, I suppose.
Other than that, my only suggestion would be to use it with a pedestal base – but that is more a matter of taste.
The Griffin vises are made in the USA and are even better than the Renzetti (IMO) for far less money. Excellent warranty and customer service.
I took a hard look at the looked at the Renzetti Traveler when shopping and after comparing them side by side at a local shop, I bought the Griffin. Several years later I bought a second one. After borrowing mine while his Dyna-King was sent back for repair my buddy also bought one. There just that good.
Check out the Odyssey Spider model, you can find it for about $80 on-line.
I also have and use a Odyssey Spider model exclusivly. I have tried many others, I like mine over all of them, Quality, price, how it works is superior in my opinion. John
