East Branch Udap TR

Volunteered to run the shuttle for wife and friend into the park, giving me a few hours to explore some of the less-loved little blue lines. Last vestiges of snowpack

Still a good flow of water even though it’s been pretty hot and no rain in almost 3 weeks

Chilly morning; though it might be a bit early for dries but did find a few looking up

Plenty of good holding water

And the catching picked up as it got warmer.

Doesn’t show up in the pic but this one was still in it’s spawning colors

Not the bugs though; only saw a few yellow sallies, some midges and one mayfly the whole day. These streams are not very fertile, getting most of their water from snowmelt so no surprise

Never found many takers in the suds, they seemed to prefer the tailouts and less wrinkled stretches today

Time to head back and complete my shuttle duties; it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it

Regards,
Scott
