Anyone have any websites or pages or …whatever…that can explain and suggest methods of dying tieing material. Items such as feathers and so on. Maybe even bleaching also
Type “Dyeing Feathers” or “Kool Aid Dyeing” and you’ll find lots of information on dyeing feathers, fur, etc. using Kool Aid, Rit, Veniards. Here’s a few:

Two tips - if you want it bright, start with white
to get black, dye it dark brown first

ps - A.K. Best has a great book on dyeing/bleaching materials, mostly using Rit; worth a look

A search here on FAOL for “Kool Aid” returned dozens of threads. Here are few threads that seem the most relavent for material dyeing.

Here Sully, try this…I hope you are a speed reader…Mike was rather amazing…wish he was still posting…
gqualls dyes BIOT in beautiful colors and I betting he dyes other feathers.
He gets great colors but it is chemical dying I think.
I highly recommend A K Best’s book. It loaded with great information and well worth the money. You can find it here http://product.half.ebay.com/Dyeing-and-Bleaching_W0QQtgZinfoQQprZ5936977 for $4.79 which is an absolute steal.
