I know you didnt forget your paddles, and yaks dont have drain plugs, so I’m thinking it has something to do with water/lunch?
It would take more than 6 flies for that one… Would at least have to build a fly rod…

I hope you didn’t do what I did this summer. I lost my forceps late one day way up in the mountains. It may it pretty tough to get the fly out of the trout. Fortunately none of the fish I caught late in the day ate the fly very deep, and I could get the fly out fairly easily. The next morning my fishing buddy and I went to a fly shop first thing, and I bought two new forceps.
Thus I hope you didn’t either loose the forceps or leave them home. (It was no fun.)

Rick, did you drop your cell phone out in the woods (been there, done that).
Pillcaster, my kayak does have a drain plug. I just leave it in.
Apparently lot of kayaks do, I heard on the news where a local lady had to be rescued from her yak because she did not secure the plug.
No wonder my old yak always took on so much water! 
Hint. Nothing with the boat or permission to fish.

You kept throwing fish in your basket, but had the bottom hatch propped open, so the fish all swam out?
Or…you threw your fish basket in the water, but forgot to tie it to the canoe first?
That reminded me of a trip with a friend who tied his basket to the side of the boat and left it there while we moved from one spot to another. After a while we discover when moving the top was pushed open and some of the fish were swimming out. Live & learn.
