You’re right on, Normand. I think that is the best dubbing tutorial I’ve even seen, myself.
Bruce
WOW!..Thanks, Normand…I just made a pdf file…my poor pdf maker software just about had a heart attack:lol:.
I have the UKFlyDressing site bookmarked on my computer. Really wonderful site!! And, some names you’ll easily recognize!
“Honey. I need to borrow the coffee grinder for a bit”.
ducksterman,
Any chance that you would be willing to pass that pdf around? I thought about doing the same thing with MS Word.
download a free program called “Cutepdf” and then save it to a pdf file.
I would love a copy of that PDF. if anyone has it.
What a fantastic tutorial. I finally figured out the difference between a dubbing loop and split thread loop (i know stupid, but I have only been tying for a season!)
The blends looked incredible!!!
its time to retire those Tibetan monks you have on retainer as scribes and get into the 21st century
;)
I hadn’t heard of this program before. Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Thanks Normand. Great Tutoral. I also never saw the CutePDF program, Got it now.
Too bad about not being able to get pdf’s. Upgrade to a Mac instead of Windows 7. I can get any URL page as a PDF by chosing the print command and saving as a PDF. And with Mac’s Preview program I can cut any text or photo adn past it into documents. It all comes free with a Mac. Been able to do that for years and years…
Yep. I do it all the time. It’s just too easy to do!
Scot did a remarkable job on that tutorial. I’ve been a member of that site for some time (they welcome Yanks). The Step by Steps available is just fantastic. The members are some talented, innovative fly dressers.

That file is HUGE as generated from the Mac’s print function. About 55 Mb. I stripped out a ton of blank pages and then optimized it and got it down to about 4.5 MB. That is still too big to mail to most addresses.
If you want it in pdf format, you are going to have to use your Mac or something like CutePDF.
Just what does CutePDF do? Does that make it easier or a smaller file to save and/or print?
Dave
The free one lets you convert a page into PDF and Print and save. The full version $$$ Lets you do all the stuff Mac does.
Or use a Firefox Add-on called PDF Download.
There are other programs for the Mac as well. PDFpen is one that gives you most of the benifits of full blown Acrobat for relatively cheap. The only time a lot of that is needed is if you are going to email the resulting file or post it on the web for download.
All of that said, that forum has a lot of well done tutorials on it. Almost as good as ours.
Sorry for the late reply but I’ve been off fishing for a change.
Sounds like you’ve all got it solved.
Norm, my monks are cute too!
Seriously I used CutePDF Writer…free and when I installed it I installed another free one but have never used it…PrimoPDF
