this deer hair dry is totally simple and ez to tie for a beginner like me. THe fish hammer it. It looks really buggy. The first time I used it was during an invasion of craneflies on the pond. The fish demolished two flies. Have caught crappie, bluegill, lmb, and wild cutthroat on it.

Mine are almost done. They should be in the mail on the 25th. I thought I was done, but I guess I can’t count !
Anyway, I just wanted to give everybody a heads up. I really like the way my droppers came out. On the other hand, I’m not 100% happy with how the goddards came out. They were just too inconsistent for me to be happy with. This was a new pattern for me, and it shows. If I had 2 more weeks I might re-tie them. Alas, given the time, I have to humbly apologize in advance. They aren’t awful, and they will catch fish, they just aren’t up to the standards I’d like for my swap flies. One of the big reasons I do swaps is to push my tying ability and to make my flies as “perfect” as I can. I didn’t get that done on this set of flies, and I’m sorry…
My flies are tied up and ready to go out first thing in the morning. I tied a #16 Pheasant tial soft hackle and a #10 Adams Trude. The dry might be a little small for my dropper but I was out of the proper size hooks. I put the hackle on really thick so it should support the weight. I can’t wait to see the final results!!! Scott
Hey guys I’m sorry but my flies will be afew days late. My mother in-law is in the hospital with a heart attack. So I’ll be busy for afew days. But I’ll get them in the mail this week. Sorry again didn’t mean to let you down.

My flies went out today. I tied an extra set and tested it on the river taday during my lunch break. The Adams Trude does support the weight of the P.T. soft hackle with the help of some floatant. They are both very good flies to fish solo as well. Scott
Everyone has been heard from. All flies are either here or are reported to be in the mail. We have one Canadian swapper. I will keep you posted on arrivals. As soon as they’re all here, they will be mailed out within a day or two.
It will be worth the wait, we’ve got some great flies here. Thanks all for participating.
OntarioSteelheaders flies, at least some of them, have arrived. They had a rocky voyage here. I will fill in for this with an orange foam stimi and peacock beadhead dropper.
The last missing package was reportedly mailed around Feb 7, but has not arrived. I am determined to get the swap flies in the mail within the next 7 days. Thanks for your patience.
