Bill,
That is very good news!
Thanks,
Doug
Congrates Bill, there always others you are helping without even knowing it. I am proud of you. John

Congratulations on 23 years.
Eric

grumps
That is wonderful!! Good for you.
bdesavage… Congradulations!!! We have today, and that, in it’s self, is a blessing…
Tim
Great …keep it up. We want you around and fishing for a lot longer
Congratulations on 23 years of being sober.
Congratulations! That is a hard battle! I can relate to the struggle of the dysfunction… my wife’s father dealing with late stages of alcoholism and she is bravely been in Alonon for 9 years of Recovery…Everyone is Broken but, aren’t we all glad that we can just be hooked on Flyfishing now! LOL

Congratulations!!! Keep it up!! It takes a lot to go the distance and 23 years is quite a distance!
Bill,
Congratulations on that anniversary . Lately I have watched a TV program " Intervention". The reality depicted there shows what a profound effect addiction AND the cure have on those around us who care. By being sober for these 23 years you have not only bettered YOUR life but that of those who love/loved you. And thanks for sharing the good news with us.
Mark
Bill -
Just another year and it will be 24 years !!
Let us know when that one has passed, and we’ll wish you the best for the one after that, too.
John
Not an easy thing to do my friend. I applaude you and all others for fighting the good fight. 23 Years is quite an achievement. Way to go!
I ditto all the good words. My father had 8 years sober when Lung cancer took him in 1978. From his example I don’t have this problem, thank the Lord. God Bless us all.
Hey Bro I know what you are going through being dry that long and my hat is off to you. I have been clean from herion and other drugs now 31 years and it is still a battle. Looking forward to hearing about your 30th year dry.
We have some truly amazing people on this board! Congratulations for all the hard work! And your daily determination!!
BdeSavage;
SUPER CONGRATS,to you!
I took my 27th “cake” last June 7th. It’s been 29 years for the drugs.
Will I, make my “28th cake”? I don’t know. None of “us” do, really.
We can “hope we do” of course". With all the tools we have in our tool boxes, after so many years, we may even have a good chance of doing it!
But, personally, (the ONLY ONE I can really speak for), "If I SAY “I’ll make my 28th”, then I’ve given up what gave me my “27th”… the strength and the ability, to truly live “One Day At A Time”.
When I forget the fact, that; “I’m a drink away from a drunk and a drunk away from a drink”, I’m in trouble.
Your accumulated years, are fantastic! I hope, if you do such things, that your Home Group is helping you celebrate this date with you, also.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
THANX to ALL the FAMILY for the GOOD Words, as Paul said it’s a daily “Chore”, But its definalatley worth it. I think it was worse on Jean and Heather(Daughter) when I quit, due to quitting cigaretts and going thru PTSD at the same time, I never have done thing’s the easy way:P.
Again Thank All of You!
