Just curious, what ever happened to ordering fast sinking double tapered fly lines. Many years ago you could order them, but after looking in catalogs they only offer the floating lines.I was able to find a Cortland 444 DT 9 Sink Type 2 so I bought them. They were all we used for roll-casting in large lakes with obstructions on your back. Why have line companies discontinued them.
Funny you should ask…recently on Ebay I actually purchased one by mistake…right after I won the bid I realized it was double tapered…didn’t even know there was such a thing…but I was resigned to the sale…low and behold a little later the seller notified me it was out of stock and mistakenly listed…a sigh of relief from me…
Anyway search Ebay if you are interested he had a number of them listed in different weights…and very very good prices…
True, but that was mostly when taper choices were more limited, basically just DT, Level, ST, and a few versions of WF. Manufacturers and shops weren’t as overwhelmed with so many choices as they are today.
Apparently the market isn’t there for DT sinkers.
Splicing is always a possibility.
