Dot Man---WHAT A GUY!!

Last night when I got home, there was a “tube shaped” package that my daughter said she had to sign for. From Jerry (Dot Man), I opened up a 4 piece, 7 1/2’, South Bend 291 vintage bamboo rod!!! Rated for “E or HDH”, I talked to & thanked (PROFUSELY!) Jerry this morning & he thought it was for 4-6 wt lines…input appreciated. I still can’t believe it…I have done some small favors for Jerry & talked to him on the phone many times, but…I am speechless! I just wanted to acknowledge what those of you who know Jerry already knew…he is one GREAT friend!
Thanks again Jerry…can’t wait for the first hookup on this baby!
BTW…my nonfishing wife Colleen really thinks it’s pretty…she liked the color & doesn’t think I should fish with it…HA!!!

Jerry…Look for some of ol’ tubers’ famous peanut butter fudge next week…it’s not much, but it’s coming from the heart my friend.

I recently recieved an envelope full of Dots, for free. Dotman is cool.

Mike, I haven’ yet met a flyfisher on this site, that weren’t great people. Always ready for prayer for someone on this board. Or ready to help in some way or another. Just like family. Now getting back to the south bend, great gift, and maybe, just maybe, you may let me see it.When you get out this summer.

Tell us something we don’t know. ;> )

I have dealt with Jerry for years as a consumer of his Reel Dots and he has always followed up his deliver with a kind word. He is a standup guy in my book.

You are right about Jerry! He is one outstanding guy! If you have arthritis and a broken finger, like me, you will really love the dots!

BTW, Mikey, I seem to recall that not so very long ago you gave someone a 8wt, 9ft 6.0 mid-flex, model 908 Orvis Clearwater rod, Rocky Mountain Large Arbor reel, extra spool, floating line, sink tip line and backing. No good deed goes unpunished, Mike Let me know when you want to come to Harrisburg and go fishing with us guys here.

I’ve had the pleasure of fishing and working with Jerry at 2 fly shows this year. He is a great person, who is impossible not to like. He has helped me quite a few times and I truly appreciative of his friendship.

Guys, I am the one who is so fortunate to have friends such as you and all the others I have come to know and count as friends, fishing buddies and more. So many of you have made it possible for me to be able to experience things I never would have had an opportunity to do if I had not become a fly fisher. I am humbled and it makes me proud to be able to contribute and do things that make others smile and be happy. A short three years ago my world was no comparison as to where I am now, thanks to fly fishing and those that share this awesome passion have made quite an impact on me and I am a better person for that. I look forward to continuing to spread my wings, learning more, and hopefully being able to continue to have a positive influence as I grow in this sport.

Thanks to all of you.

Jerry

I e-mailed LF about arthritis affecting my fishing and tying when I joined the board last year. It wasn’t long after that Jerry sent me some dots to see if they would help me at all. I hadn’t been on here much more than a month… if that long … and he was there to help me. The dots did help by the way, and not just on the reel. I have found ways to use them on the tying bench also.
