to posting pictures of my Tiger Eye build
Every good rod deserves its own special sock!
7’3/4wt 4piece
Down-locking seat … of course!
Anxious to get out and give it a try. Missed the winter trip this year, so it won’t be till spring, but I’m ready!!
Beautiful Betty,
What blank did you use? I really like the color.
VERY nice, Betty. And that rod sock tells us you’ll be off to the races soon enough !!
Have you had a chance to cast it yet ?? Or do you have to wait til you get a trout in your sights ??
John
Very pretty rod. Great job Betty.
Betty, that is one fine looking rod. and a nice sock for it also. John
betty,

Betty, nice looking build and “fancy sock”. What color did use use for the wraps, it’s had to see in the pics? As for the Tiger Eye blanks , what can I say…one of my favorites…Ed
Tis indeed a Tiger Eye blank! Pretty, pretty blank! I used a variegated brown/cream/dark brown for the wraps, sort of sets off the two tone blank, and has all the colors of the reel seat. The reel seat is myrtle wood, an the grip is a modified cigar grip that I cut shorter (6"), Fits nice to the length of the rod, and my hand. I’ve not got to cast it yet … finished it up just about the time the gopher struck, and had to cancel out winter trip. If there were fishes I cold aim at through the hard water, I’d be doing it! Probably have to wait for spring, and by then the trouts will be back in my sights.
Betty,
That is a beautiful rod. That blank color is very nice. Excellent work on the build.
Auntie, beautiful build. I love your d/l seat. It’s my weakness.
Buetifull rod betty. Yea I can’t spell. I like the tiger eye blanks a lot. I am building one myself for oh myself finally. I will have to post pics of it when I am through. One thing about the tiger eye’s is they take to a lot of colors that brings out the color of the blank. I like the build on the wraps with the finish. Good professional look. Wish I could do that good. I think you will enjoy casting it as much as the performance when a trouts has got itself attached.
