Pete Hidy was my Uncle’s brother-in-law and I recently was given some of his books and memorabelia including a small collection of his hand tied flies. Pete wrote The Art of Tying the Wet Fly & Fishing the Flymph with James Leisenring published in 1971 among others. Pete I beleive also founded the International Society of Flymph Fisherman. If you knew Pete or anyone that may have known him, please respond with any information you might have that would help me to know him better.
While I did not him personally there are a few people that knew him well. Lance Hidy, his son, and Clayne Baker are 2 that come to mind first.
Check out this site it is loaded with Flymph info and some of Pete’s writing’s. www.flymph.com
Personally I have Leisenrings Notebooks and other papers that were Pete’s. His wife Elaine put them up for auction when Pete passed along with his Fishing library.
I was fortunate enough to stumble on to the Notebooks about a month ago.

Jim- Thanks for the info. I have spoken to Lance and will check out the web site you suggested. I’ll bet you’re pretty proud to own Pete’s library and Leisenrings notes. I think it’s fantastic. Thanks for the info.
