Yesterday was a club whitefish tournament on the Deschutes. Cool weather and grey clouds prevailed. Air temperature was around 40F and water temperature was just below 45F.
A nice BWO hatch came off around 1400.
Fishing was pretty decent, plenty of whitefish were caught along with a few feisty Deschutes Redsides. Sorry for the lack of images in that department, I haven’t quite yet mastered landing and holding a fish while trying to take a picture of the little bugger.
Scene of the day was happening across the river when a group of 20 or so bighorn sheep started playing acrobatics on the rock face. Truly amazing animals to watch. Poor quality picture but it was the most that I could squeeze out of my little camera.
Geeeessssh - I was hoping to see someone else post a picture of a whitefish. Of course, that might really bother REE. He might think there is a conspiracy working its way west !!
The pic of the blue wing olive is outstanding.
The bighorns are neat animals. You must have gotten just all about all of them in the pic. I think I count twenty, or nineteen sheep and a big rock ??
