The golden pheasant came in the mail yesterday; what a difference from the the Chinese capes I’ve been trying to sub with. Left the hen hackle in the ginger dye bath a bit too long (90 seconds next time) but it blended okay with the GP.

body hackle - hen grizzly dyed ginger (“Mimosa” - 4 tsp Rit Golden Yellow/ 1/2 tsp Rit Camel, 1 cup water)
shoulder hackle - yellow golden pheasant body hackle
front hackles - hen grizzly dyed brown over grizzly dyed ginger
