hook - Dai Riki 280 #14
thread - Uni 8/0 purple
shuck - Congo Hair brown
rib - gold wire x-small
abdomen - Congo Hair purple
thorax - peacock herl/Haretron dubbing
underwing - bleached elk
overwing - Congo Hair white
legs - Sili-legs brown
hackle - grizzly-dyed brown

Part 1

Mash down barb, start thread

tie in shuck; fold back, tie in rib and wrap back to point above barb

tie in a few strands of purple CH; wrap forward to 60% mark

rib body; tie off/helicopter end, trim shuck to length (gap width past bend)

Part 2

tie in some peacock, twist around thread and wrap forward

clean, stack a clump of elk, trim tips, tie in; trim butts

tie in CH overwing and legs (only extend thread wraps to 75% mark)

dub front of thorax

Part 3

tie hackle in front of thorax

pull legs back/wing up and wrap hackle forward; tie off/trim hackle, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim overwing, trim legs
