Tying note: This pattern call for ?#30 lamb?s wool?. In Terry Hellickson?s book, the only reference to the numbers indicated is for a material called ?Seal Brite?. I have no idea if this dubbing is still available, but I substituted Uni Yarn for the body material.

Reference ? Fish Flies Volume Two ? Terry Hellekson

Nice job and would be a very functional fly here for lots of species.

I think that hook is a Tiemco 7999 (IIRC) and not the Gami T10. The Gami is visually a bit different IMO.

I do not think Seal Brite has been available for quite some time though I have a couple sample sets of the stuff in very small tubes. It was a very good seal substitute, in the early '70s, again IIRC. I think Paol Jorgenson’s Seal-Ex is very similar and came out a bit later, maybe '74?

Another picture-perfect fly. Well done!

I’m sorry but I can assure you I tied this fly on a Gamakatsu T10-6H hook. I have them right here in front of me

okay… I use the T10 a bunch and thought it looked a little different.

I still have a set of the Seal-Ex in small tubes. I think I bought I in the '70s, but still use it on occasions.
