Deer Mark,

It was a “chance meeting”

Mark

Bummer. Any upside? Couple pounds of fresh tenderloin maybe?

Don,
The only “upside” was that a day or so earlier I had rear-ended a dude with an almost invisible LOW and no markers trailer and already had some “my fault” damage which of course was covered with the deer collision. Also this happened near midnight on a dark desolate highway. I did return the next day to find a patch of fur and a large blot of bloody road. NO DEER. Someone else got the “fresh tenderloin”.

Mark

Bummer. Hope you are ok. Jim

Real bummer, no tying material. Oh well, maybe next time.

Yep … that definitely left a mark! Glad you’re ok!!

Brother, that’s some fine repair work you’ve done there. I’m cheap so I’d be tempted to leave it as is.

Reminds me of the advisory signs up on the Mogollon Rim in AZ, spaced in the old Barbasol style 1st sign “I saw an elk, oh what a thrill”; 2nd sign “Until I hit it with my grill.”

Glad there was no damage to the occupants, just get some of that tape they tape the boat together with on the TV ads and you are good to go.

I’ve owned several cars that looked like that, and for the same reason.

In the interest of full disclosure, this happened in Wyoming last October. The vehicle , a 2008 Jeep Liberty “Gertrude”, now totally restored, is my exclusive fishin vehicle, and the damage estimate was $ 6500 ( including the previously mentioned “my fault”). I assumed it would be deemed a total loss but due to MY ANAL upkeep regimen, the insurance company coughed up the repair cost. In fact, just a few minutes ago, I received confirmation for our, this year, stay in Jackson WY to which, we will drive “Gertrude” as usual, hopefully without incident !.

PS: AND, thanks for the views and responses .

Glad It wasn’t a moose.

Drive safe

AND, almost a year has passed since the venison carnage on Wyo Hwy 89. Leaving Thursday for our annual Wyoming experience and certainly dinner reservations at “The Old Yellowstone Garage” in Alpine from whence we were returning to Jackson when “IT” happened. But, that aside, looking forward to beat the waters of the Snake, Salt, Greys, Hoback, Flat Creek, Gros Ventre, Shoshone, Lamar, Lewis , Tongue, etc etc etc to a froth. We’ll be there for about 3 weeks so hopefully the weather cooperates…but, who cares, it’s Wyoming.
