Here is a good Article saluting the Veterans of Pearl Harbor; www.MyWestTexas.com Second Story under Top Stories.
Never Forget!
Doug
I specifically logged on (don’t usually from work) with the expressed purpose to remember those of Dec. 7, 1941. A “Day of Infamy” to recall. As have been many others since.
Although my dad wouldn’t know (alzheimers) I thank him and ALL other WWII vets on this occasion and many others.
May we never forget. May we never take our freedoms and liberty for granted!
From a vet to all vets,
Mike K.
Some years ago I visited the Arizona Memorial. It is, to this day, one of the most memorable and emotional expericences I have had in my life. I do not have the words to describe how that visit has affected me. God bless all that gave their lives on Dec 7th.
As most of you know I work in a Department of Defense warehouse. During our set up meeting this morning we had a moment of silence in remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor, 12 Dec 1942.
A comment made by one of the Supervisors, himself a retired Army veteran, greatly disturbs me. He wondered how many people do not even know what Pearl Harbor day is or that we were attacked at Pearle Harbor.
I will never forget the details relayed to me by the father of a dear friend. He was there.
I will never, ever forget the brave men and women who died there that day. I will never forget the worlds greatest generation that fought the bloodiest war in history to preserve freedom and defeat evil.
I will always honor and remember the American service members and those of our allies, living and dead, and vow to you here, now, never to allow their sacrifice to be forgotten.
No matter what nation you live in when you look up at your flag remember that without the sacrifice of our World War Two comrades that flag would not be there today.
I will remember the day that America got a wake up and realized that it was time, as our British cousins say, to “Give it 'em back!”.
To the men and women that suffered that horrible attack on that day of infamy, I will not forget you, I salute you and I thank you.
Here is the official U.S. Navy web site on the attack at Pearl Harbor:

I might also suggest viewing the movie “Tora, Tora, Tora” considered to be perhaps the most accurate historical telling of the attack from both sides pints of view.
I am with you 100% Nighthawk, and all you others.
I will never forget that my family, fellow soldiers, and our allies, have sacrificed, so that I may enjoy the freedom to retire from a volunteer army in a free country.
I will never let my children forget, and in that way all those that have sacrificed will be immortal!
Eric I have a copy of the Movie “Midway” which I watch at least twice a year. It is The story of how the US answered back for those lost at Pearl in Spades.
My favorite line is " Yes, Turn and run might be the smart thing to do, but I want that forth carrier. "
Forget Pearl Harbor? Not a chance. It was the day they woke up a sleeping giant and filled it with a terrible resolve.
