Dang insoles!

Ok I’ve been away for a little while but I have a question for ya that this little issue is about to drive me up the wall! how do you get the insoles of your wading boots to stay put? I’m about to just gorilla glue the dang things! those things after a little hike or some time in the river start crawling all over and then the feet start hurting. Opionions suggestions would be very appreciated!

I have the same problem!

One thing that works, at least for a season, is to use some double sided carpet tape to stick the soles in place. I use the ‘outdoor’ type (2" wide on a cloth backing with a water resistant adhesive.) For a more permanent but still reversible bond try a contact cement such as ‘Barge Cement’. The bond can be broken using a heat gun.

I have also found that I don’t get this problem with all of my insoles. The ones that are made of neoprene or have a sticky rubber coating seem to creep the most. When I replaced those with a style of insole made of thick felt the problem went away.

I think you have two options–

  1. buy a pair of Choita Wader Boots (Best)

  2. Glue them in with contact cement.

Well lets see I like the idea of the double stick or glue them in, buying a new pair of boots to have a non-slip insole does not fit in the works today but thanks for the replys. I’ll give the tape trick a try. Later,
