Dam Repair - March refill report...

The dam repairs were finished up in late January. We are about 9 weeks into the refill and the lake is very close to full once more. We just went down and took measurements and we are ten inches shy of full.

The prognosis is very good on the fish surviving. Over the last month, boys have been ice fishing and catching lots of fish. One group got 23 in a period of about 3 hours. Ranger Marc says the fish are a bit underweight, but there seems to be plenty of them. We don’t know what kind of mortality, if any, there was as the lake is still frozen over. Altitude here is 8871’ by the trusty GPS. I am eagerly waiting for open water.

There is currently 12" of snow on the ground measured by my trusty Hiking Stave. Go to this link: http://www.troop142bsa.org/sketchbook/Hiking%20Stick.pdf and you can make your own!
