I just picked up a pack of these in size 10, pretty cool looking. I was going to tie some san juan worms, but googling around I found some other patterns

Anyone have a favorite for this hook? I found a reference to John Gierach has a damsel fly nymph tied on this hook but I couldnt find a pic or pattern.

Cool flies on that link; I’ve got some Tiemco T400 swimming nymph hooks that I may play around with. Check out Gierach’s Good Flies for the damsel pattern you’re interested in.

Looks like a good candidate for Vladi’s Worm.
Its a hook I’ve been trying to get hold of here for some realistic nymphs. They are not readily available here. I’d tie dragonfly and Mayfly nymphs and caddis pupa on them (these patterns).

mono-eyes.
The deal with this is to place the eyes in the dip of the hook. Even something light like mono will make the hook flip, but by placing the mono eyes, below the hook eye, flipping won’t happen
