Dai-Riki Hooks

I just wanted to report back. I tied some size 22 thread midges on these hooks and caught fish between 16 and 20 inches. The hooks did not bend or break. I’m happy to have found a good quality hook that is very affordable.

I bought some Togen nymph hooks on eBay they seem identical in every way to Dai-Riki nymph hooks 060 or 070? (I’m not real fluent with their model numbers and I’m away from my tying desk so I can’t look it up) so of you like Dai-Riki’s you might want to try the Togens

I personally don’t like Dai-Riki nymph hooks so I didn’t like the Togen ones either. They both tend to snap when even gently flattening the barbs.

The Togen dry hooks were ok though.

I do like Dai-Riki’s streamer hooks but haven’t tried the Togen equivalent.

Chewydog - I agree with the voices in your head on this subject. Don’t really care for D-R hooks. I carry Montana Fly Co. Hooks after they sent some free samples. Very impressed! I just got in a shipment of tying materials and they are beautiful and more affordable.
When my inventory is posted I’ll let everyone know about my site so you can see everything.
