I know a few guys (3) that are on, and have been on the US Fly Fishing team that are quite well versed on Polish/Czech nymphing styles. They were under the eye of Vlade Trzebunia. You do want to use something thin for skin. When they were in Europe, they would go to certain places to pick up what they used for skin for the fly. I was told this was the perfect product. Correct color, elasticity, and thickness. What they used was a certain brand condom only sold in Europe.
These guys know how to catch fish and how tie this type fly. Since it’s hard to get the ‘skin’ over in the states, this shop in Europe can help you get what you need (not the condom).

I have also heard it is a Condom. I know of gentle men here that have fished with Vlad and studied under him.
I will also agree with whatever you want to use. Plastic Glove, Condom, Sausage casing, Ladies underwear (still not sure about that one), even the stuff they sell called SCUD BACK. Stretchy and different widths, how easy is that?! But I am sure whatever you have on hand will work.
I have used latex from a fly shop & from a latex glove, however my most productive flys are from using a piece of saltwater flashabou (about 1/8" wide strips) with the wire wrapped around it to keep it in place. I have also put epoxy over the back.
