Any chance that there will be a page put up for the central washington fish-in this year with a whos going list and what not? It’s not that far away! I’m way looking forward to it this year as I’ve missed the last 2 years. Can’t wait to get back out on the water, my life has been hectic the last couple years and fly fishing got put on the back burner unfortunately. Luckily things are calming down and I’m really looking forward to spending time with friends that I haven’t seen in a while!
Absolutely, GREAT, write up and info on the CWFI, thank you!
I’ll drop the “requested email” to get my name on the “going list” as well.
Fishing “The Ford” for the past 15 years, 8-10 times a year, I’ve also come up with two great flies, that have kept Bishop and I, (Bishop, fishing partner of 30+ years and lives an hour from RF), from being skunked on The Ford for the past how-ever-many trips since we began fishing them!
I’m really looking forward to this particular fish in and being on the water with a lot of fellow and fellow-ette FAOL family members!
One, other thing, for those that have never fished Rocky Ford Creek before… even as early as May, the “rattlers” are up and moving to a slight degree, although pretty slowly so early in the year.
And, leave your waders IN THE TRUCK!! The Ford is watched VERY closely, by the employees of the hatchery and ONE STEP, off the bank and into this creek, for ANY REASON and you will be “not always very politely” TOLD to “leave immediately”. Even to “net a fish, properly”, is not a legit excuse to wade into Rocky Ford.
I just spoke to Shirley, the manager at the RAMA Inn, they are giving us the same rates as
last year, $89.50. That is for a nice room, coffee, microwave and frig in the room and a free breakfast to boot. There is also a pool and hot tub. Very nice. Just tell them you are with the FAOL bunch for the discounted rates.
