CUT SHORT - Panfish - April 19, 2010

CUT SHORT

I was headed out to a pond. No canoe as there is still too much water in the low spots. I know that I would get stuck. There is some dare devil in me to try when there is a chance, but not to do it deliberately.

I had just pulled to the side of the road when another pick up came buzzing down the road. The driver asked me if I would come and help him. There was a grass fire in the ditch up the road and he was afraid that it would get into the fields and really cause trouble. It would also keep me from going into this pond as the fire would go by it.

Dang Rick! I’m glad to hear you helped out/escaped while you could.

Leave it to Rick to blame no fish on a fire…
Now a true fisherman would have caught his limit, cleaned em, and cooked em all on the fire before going home…
Next excuse Rick? Raining frogs? ROFL…
You’re quickly loosing your godlike status…
Just kidding of course… But glad to see someone other than I can come back without much to show.

Are you fly fishing now?
Also have you tied any flies yet?

Have to get an article in on my latest trip. 52 gills, two crappie and returned a dozen bass.
Helpmy status any ?

Rick

Sounds like a truly exciting trip, but I’ll pass on the running from fires. Us one-leggers just aren’t fast enough to outrun anything.
Glad you made an escape,whew!!
rodgerole

been busy… sorry for the delay.
No not yet.
Am buying a cheap rod and reel for the central washington fish in
Will learn there.

Will attempt to tie a fly or two to take with me when I go.
I’ll kill the hook entirely. If I actually CATCH a fish no way am I puttin that baby back in the water. Unless it’s too small. ROFL.
